The great thing about taking photos at night is that you never really know what you’re going find in the photo. That’s because there are details that lie in the darkness (or in the sky in this case) that our eyes can’t see, but with a long enough exposure, your camera can pick up on a lot. I thought the clouds looked particularly interesting the other night so I grabbed my camera and tripod to see what I could capture.
This shot was taken on our back lawn, and the power plant in the distance offered some nice lighting.
For this shot, I nudged the camera just a little bit to get the effect that the lights were “scribbling.”
This photo was taken in Tahiti. The water and the sky really offered a lot of detail that I couldn’t see until I looked at the digital photo.
Hey -that top picture from behind your house – I recognize the the buildings – that is really cool
Thanks!!!
Hey Kim, Just want to say that I really do enjoy your photography and it’s become a habit to check your blog on a regular basis. Keep it up….
Thanks a lot Bryan! I really appreciate it and I’m glad people enjoy it, because that’s my main goal of this blog :-)
I’m definitely enjoying it. I’ve actually started to use some of your recommendations and techniques. I’ve also started my own personal website (not published as of yet as it’s still a work in progress ). You’ve been added to the credits though :).
I’m glad you find the information useful! I feel like I learn as I go as well, which is fun. Keep me posted on your website too! Can’t wait to see it :-)
Love the Tahiti picture … love them all actually!
Thanks Robs!
