I recently photographed newborn baby Abigail and she came just in time for her parents to put her in the most adorable Easter outfit. There’s something about a foofy tail on a baby’s butt that gets me. She slept through much of the session which allowed mom and I to have a little, or a lot, of fun. We got dad and big brother Aeden in on the fun too, and I couldn’t be happier for this great little family and their newest addition!
Each time I photograph a newborn I get excited because I just can’t wait to see his/her fresh little face. Getting to meet 9 day old Benjamin was great and I think he was very interested in his new surroundings, the lights and the new woman with the camera- me! Once he got settled it was time for a little siesta and then my camera went snapping. Love his little mop of hair too…enjoy!
Just as I introduced our furry child Bailey on this very platform, I now introduce our newest addition Avery Lee, aka. Captain Adorable. At this point in his life he really doesn’t have to do much to obtain that title because adorable comes naturally to him. He’s two months old today so yes, that means I’m behind on this introduction, but I feel like I don’t have any explaining to do. You know what I’ve been doing these last eight weeks. And although I may be behind on posting, I’m not behind on capturing his every little move.
The above photos were taken today to commemorate two months, and these are his best moves at this point. Legs and arms flail while on his back, and he can pick his head up just enough to give me a look of “Really mom…you’re gonna just watch me face plant…again!?” His head can raise about an inch higher than pictured, which I think is pretty impressive, but I’m his mom so every thing he does is impressive. And that goes without saying because all new moms can agree that before you know what’s hit you, these little people wiggle their way into your heart because they have the cutest _____ (fill in the blank; possibilities are endless) and you start spewing out photos all over your Facebook. Soon every status update is consumed by them and you see nothing wrong with that.
So I’ll take this moment to do what all moms love to do, and post lots of photos of our new son who we adore. These were taken for his newborn session at eight days old and then one month.

I recently photographed a family including their new addition of a beautiful baby boy. They were all so much fun to photograph, along with their seven pound dog Duncan. I love including dogs in my sessions, and once he warmed up to me a little (and saw I had treats), he was a peach and adorable to boot. We got a variety of family shots, and some of the kids smiles were priceless. Such a wonderful group they were…here are a few to enjoy.
Last week I met Natalee and photographed her, her big sister as well as mom and dad, which was a lot of fun. Natalee is the first session I booked since being back after having our son, who allowed me to get some decent sleep the night before, so I was only moderately sleep deprived. Natalee was very curious about all the props mom brought, including some that were Christmas themed, but she couldn’t keep those peepers open for long. That’s when my job started and she did great sporting a few cute headbands in her birthday suit.
Dad is a military man, so we set up this photo which will be a nice keepsake for the family.
I turned around and out the window I found dad and big sis playing outside while Natalee was wrapping up. Time for the family photo!
