Back in the Game

I’m getting back into the swing of things this week- visitors have left town, the dog hair has settled and the laundry is piled 5 feet high (literally). So you could say I’m back to my ole’ blogging self again. And, I’ve got a few more photos to share from my adventures in northern Florida, focusing a little more on shape and texture, so enjoy!

Footprints in the sand

Everyone likes to take a good footprint in the sand photo.

Family swimming in the sunrise

This family decided to take a dip in the early morning hours....smart.

Balconies

Black and White Architecture

As I was looking for a few buildings that I might be able to add to my black and white collection, I thought about what types of buildings had a lot of texture, character or features of interest. That’s when I stumbled upon a couple of churches in downtown Orlando (check out The Other Orlando Blog). I’m still in the learning phases of mastering this technique, but I think I captured a good range of light and dark. And I don’t know what it is, but churches always seem to work well in black and white…don’t you agree?

I’ve also included a video at the bottom of some black and white photography that has inspired me…enjoy!

I like the way the sun, shadows and texture of the building came out in this one.

I took this last one back in college up in Wisconsin with my film Minolta SLR.
