Just after Christmas I got the opportunity to photograph my new niece at 10 weeks and my nephew who is about to turn three. It was a lot of fun and I got to try out some of my new studio equipment too. Kenleigh was a natural, giving me those big eyes and a little smirk every now and then. Keagan was everything you’d expect a three-year-old to be- energetic and full of giggles. He gave me a run for my money, but I managed to snap a few good ones. I think I learned some good do’s and don’t's, and I’m really excited to shoot my next session- enjoy!

Holiday Whiplash
The holidays are nearly over and you’re probably trying to get your life in order just like I am. I still feel like I should be shopping for that one last gift, and then I remember that another Christmas is behind us and now it’s time to worry about whether or not I’ll have a glass of champagne in my hand at midnight, or if I’ll just have missed the ball dropping due to an 11:30 p.m. tequila shot.
I love this time of year because it means for most of us, it’s time to drop what you’re doing (even that busy new job you just got) and see your family. For me, this means zipping back and forth across the country. I’d say I did a pretty good job of “dropping everything” to have some fun, like snowmobiling with my husband’s family for the first time in years. It brought back a lot of good memories, and also some sore muscles (I can barely turn my laptop on). And traveling over the holidays has its ups and downs, like getting home at 2:45 a.m. and going to work that same morning.
So I came home with some holiday whiplash – no biggie. I’ll forget all about it when I start playing with some of my new toys…
One of these toys is a photography backdrop with two muslin sheets and…
…two umbrella lights! (For those that understand, I know you’re jumping up and down for me)
