Each time I photograph a newborn I get excited because I just can’t wait to see his/her fresh little face. Getting to meet 9 day old Benjamin was great and I think he was very interested in his new surroundings, the lights and the new woman with the camera- me! Once he got settled it was time for a little siesta and then my camera went snapping. Love his little mop of hair too…enjoy!
Last week I met Natalee and photographed her, her big sister as well as mom and dad, which was a lot of fun. Natalee is the first session I booked since being back after having our son, who allowed me to get some decent sleep the night before, so I was only moderately sleep deprived. Natalee was very curious about all the props mom brought, including some that were Christmas themed, but she couldn’t keep those peepers open for long. That’s when my job started and she did great sporting a few cute headbands in her birthday suit.
Dad is a military man, so we set up this photo which will be a nice keepsake for the family.
I turned around and out the window I found dad and big sis playing outside while Natalee was wrapping up. Time for the family photo!
Here’s a look at baby Cohen’s photo session at just 11 days old. He was so great to work with and once we discovered that he actually liked to be posed like a little pretzel, it was smooth sailing. Mom and dad were there to help make him comfy, and while fast asleep we were able to “ooohhhh” and giggle as he dreamt. I can’t wait to watch this little man grow up because I think he’s gonna be a heart-breaker, I just know it!
A newborn baby’s newness and innocence is what makes photographing them so precious and special I think, and baby Alaina did such a wonderful job at her session looking precious as ever at nine days old. Once she got settled in, it was easy to capture her little personality. Her eyes peeped open from time to time to see what all the conversation was about, but she slept and yawned as babies do through much of it. It was my pleasure to capture some of her first days, that’s for sure!
They say time flies when you’re having fun, and by the time gap between this post and the last, you’d think I was flying off the handle with fun. Let’s just say I moved…I survived…I can’t find anything.
But, while I was dealing with boxes, my lovely friend’s son Aeden was growing bigger by the minute, and before I knew it he was 3 months old. He did an amazing job during the photo session and gave a smile that was worth it when I was quick enough to catch it. In a few more months, he’ll be grabbing and gabbing up a storm and I can’t wait to see what new little stories he’ll try to tell us. Until then, enjoy these photos!
