Coasting Through Sunday

Today felt like a rare opportunity to do…nothing. The house was clean, no office work needed to be done, the dog was walked (thanks to my husband), had a nice lunch at Chipotle and sounds of the Packers football game will fill our living room for the rest of the evening. I felt a little uneasy today without any “urgent” matters to attend to, gifts to be purchased or chores to get done, but isn’t that just typical. Can’t we just let ourselves enjoy the days of nothing?

I think that because the dust has settled a bit on the future of our Florida home helps, which has been a hot topic these days. And I have the sneaking suspicion that their won’t be too many lazy days once we move north. I suppose I could worry myself about that minor detail of where we’re going to live in two months, but I’ve decided not to and instead take this day off from doing anything but coasting through Sunday.

A True Packer Fan

Alright Bailey, you may have heard that today is a BIG day for the Packers and the outcome of the Super Bowl will probably determine whether your usually respectful owners will be able to make it home tonight. Now we’ve never made you wear silly outfits, obnoxious scarves or dangling bling, but I think today an exception needs to be made.

Now we know you like to eat cheese, if given the opportunity you surly would lap up a 30-pack of Miller Lite, and you’ve been to the frozen tundra once (even though it was during summer and we think you’ve gotten a little soft being in Florida for so long), but there’s one thing every true Packer fan should do. With that being said, and your inability to talk back and prove your alliance, we’ll place our holy cheesehead (it is holy…it was at our wedding) on your head as a sign of your loyalty.

Staaaaay, staaaay, gooooood…

Okay, the big triangle foam “toy” never really touched her head, but she is wearing her green and gold.

I think Bailey taught us a valuable lesson today, that cheese was not meant to be put on a dog’s head.

Eh Dere, It’s the Central Florida Packer Backers!

Alright, alright, so I’m in Florida thousands of miles away from Lambeau Field, but that doesn’t mean I’m not in good company once football season starts. Cheesers and Cheesetts from all around Central Florida gathered August 7th for the annual Central Florida Packer Backer picnic in Orlando. We’re a bunch of Wisconsinites and football fans who rally up to cheer on the Pack every Sunday at One Eyed Jack’s bar in downtown Orlando, aka. our “home away from home.” We may not have to travel through the snow…barefoot…uphill both ways to see the games, but we’re still cheesehead-wearing, Bears trash-talkin’, two-tree beer drinkin’ Packer fans, doan-cha-know. We’ve even started a charity; just donate your Brett Favre jersey’s and we’ll make sure the homeless get them in no time!

Here are a few photos of the fun (Check out the CFPB website):
