A Wiggly 2.5 Months Old {Grafton, WI Photographer}

I was playing around with my flash and some new blankets and backdrops the other week when I thought, “I should really grab my new favorite little model while testing out my props.” Avery is 2.5 months old in these photos and is really hitting the stage where he’s just plain wiggly, a photographers dream. Not. But I thought of it as a challenge and away we went.

I let him do his thing while I snapped my camera from all angles. Legs and toes kicked frantically from the excitement of my camera. Or maybe it was my silly baby talk that got him going. I kept telling him I was going to take a bite of one of his chubby little legs, and he thought that was a riot. Either way I think I got a couple keepers. Avery’s also getting good at telling me stories with his little coos and bursts of high-pitched noises, but exactly what those stories are about, we’ll have to wait and see.

Lydia’s Newborn Photo Session {3 Weeks} Grafton, WI Photographer

Lydia came to my studio at three weeks old, but mom explained that this little lady was ready for her big debut a little sooner than expected because she was born three weeks early and our session date was her actual due date!  She was very interested in mom and myself as we set up, and we concluded she must be going through a growth spurt more-so on this day because she was very hungry! Once things got settled, she took a nice long nap so we could capture those cute chubby cheeks among other things and the session went wonderfully. Enjoy!

Wait For It

Tree in the fog

We’re packing our bags, again! Thankfully we decided to keep everything in boxes so the move into our new home should be a cake walk compared to the last one. Can I say this will be our last move…let’s hope so. But, we’ll need to play the waiting game a little longer before we get to smell the fresh paint. Waiting for the “next move” seems to be our lives as of recently, but I guess it’s all part of the master plan.

I’ll admit getting to this point has required patience. First it was finding renters for the Florida home, then the right house here, and now all we can do is hope that the closing process goes smoothly, by waiting. But we’re experts at it by now and good things have come from it. The renters we got ended up being from Wisconsin also (coincidental!?!), and the right house has indeed finally come along.

Infant & Toddler Photo Session

Just after Christmas I got the opportunity to photograph my new niece at 10 weeks and my nephew who is about to turn three. It was a lot of fun and I got to try out some of my new studio equipment too. Kenleigh was a natural, giving me those big eyes and a little smirk every now and then. Keagan was everything you’d expect a three-year-old to be- energetic and full of giggles. He gave me a run for my money, but I managed to snap a few good ones. I think I learned some good do’s and don’t's, and I’m really excited to shoot my next session- enjoy!
